The Chinese equivalent of the "ECCN" (Export Control Classification Number) consists of five digits, each representing a specific classification:
1st Digit: Industry Category
1: Special materials, related equipment, chemicals, biological substances, and toxins
2: Material processing
3: Electronics
4: Computers
5: Telecommunications and information security
6: Sensors and lasers
7: Navigation and avionics
8: Vessels (Marine)
9: Aerospace and propulsion
0: Other items
2nd Digit: Item Type
A: Systems, equipment, and components
B: Test, inspection, and production equipment
C: Materials
D: Software
E: Technology
3rd Digit: Reason for Control
0: Conventional weapons-related
1: Delivery vehicles for weapons of mass destruction (WMD) related
