On March 7, 2025, the European Commission proposed extending the exemption of Ukrainian steel imports from EU trade defence measures, ensuring continued duty-free access and exemption from safeguard measures beyond the expiration of the current Autonomous Trade Measures (ATMs) on June 5, 2025, as part of ongoing economic support for Ukraine's iron and steel sector.
The EU and UK are strengthening VAT cooperation under the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) to improve cross-border tax recovery and fraud prevention. Companies operating between both markets must prepare for procedural changes in VAT compliance.
